NYYC Robert H. Tiedemann Classics Regatta
Around the Island

The New York Yacht Club hosted the Robert H. Tiedemann Classics Regatta as part of the ongoing 50th year Herreshoff celebrations this summer. This was the first Tiedemann regatta after a few year hiatus. The event began with an Around the Island Regatta on Saturday June 26 for all the classes except the S-Class who ran on a separate course. Though foggy conditions prevailed during the start of the morning a fresh breeze filled in resulting in great sailing conditions for the completion of the Around the Island and all the Saturday racing. The following are the class winners.
Sunday June 27th the racing continued with an inside the bay series. The complete results of the regatta are listed in the link below.

The conclusion of the Tiedemann Classic Regatta kicks of the 2021 Classic Yacht Owners Association’s Challenge Series for 2021. There will be other CYOA events throughout New England this summer celebrating these beautiful yachts and their contribution to the continued honoring of these classics in the history of yachting.
