The 2024 Greenwich Concours d’Elegance weekend kicked off on Saturday June 1, 2024 with the Concours de Sport. This day featured sporting cars from all eras. There were head turners on every row. Owners brought modern McLarens and old-style American classics.
Hagerty, who sponsors the event, changed the format this year making Saturday the Concours de Sport followed by the Concours d’Elegance on Sunday. They could not have foreseen a more perfect weekend as the cars began pulling in on Saturday morning, there was a light cool breeze and plenty of sunshine and smiles.
As the morning went on two of the autos made by Sam and George Barris drew crowds to the unique one-off autos they created. They garnered so much attention that the 1957 Pearl White and Candy Purple Chevrolet 210 50’s Era Custom owned by Tim McMann took Best in Show in the Concours de Sport on Saturday. A beautiful car with so many custom features you had to stand back and actively look over the whole auto to take in all the unique spots on “El Capitola.”
Day 2 of the event was the Concours d’Elegance and was a repeat of the beautiful weather. Both days were sunny and warm and the patrons couldn’t have asked for better weather the entire weekend.
Automobile and motorcycle enthusiasts began piling in on Sunday morning for another fun day with exceptional vehicles. They were speaking with owners who proudly showed their cars as they awaited judging. This was a place to see some of the rarest of rare autos and motorcycles left in the world.

Many also took in the ride & drive and got behind the wheel of a car most would normally get the opportunity to drive. They also looked out over Long Island Sound from the shore of Greenwich through beautify made binoculars also on sale at the event.
It was a fun and wonderful way to spend a summer weekend outdoors for so many who love everything on wheels.
The winners were given awards at 2:00 and the winners drove their vehicles to the arch and received their awards in front of the attendees overlooking the water. After the awards were given the celebrations began for the best in show and in class. The best in show for the Concours d’Elegance was a beautiful blue 1931 Cadillac 452A.
