The Safe Harbor Race Week 2023 turned out to be a complete success for all. The skippers and crews enjoyed great sailing days and parties along with a spectacular Newport backdrop. There were 66 teams in 11 classes with two divisions for superyachts. This coupled with 3 parties at 2 locations provided all the racers with a fine long weekend of fun and spirited racing.

In PHRF Performance Cruising A, winner Oakcliff Racing’s R/P 86 OC-86 had a great regatta.

The first day of racing saw wins for the Ted Fountaine Sloop Nakupenda and the Brooklin Boatyard 76 Zemphira, who went on to win their division overall in Class A and B.

There were a variety of conditions for the event from light airs to a touch of fog, but most of the event had fine weather with a fresh breeze.

This being the third year for the event it is growing each year since inaugural edition in 2021, and the regatta is quickly becoming a highpoint of the sailing season in Newport.
