Dee Caffari, who, by completing her Vendée Globe on 16th February, became the first woman to sail solo non stop both ways around the world
CONGRATULATIONS DEE!!
We are delighted to announce that after 99 days at sea, an elated Dee crossed the finish line of the Vendée Globe round the world yacht race at 13:12.57 hrs GMT on 16 February 2009, claiming 6th place. Dee arrived back into the town of Les Sables D’Olonne in France to huge crowds of well wishers and supporters.
Dee has achieved her ultimate goal of securing a double world record and becoming the first female to sail solo, non-stop around the world in both directions.
